Strategic Focus for 2025/26

In our 2025 strategic meeting, we discussed and agreed on key goals and priorities for the upcoming cycle. Our focus will be on the following initiatives:

  1. School Programs (Primary to University): We aim to enhance our outreach by developing structured programs that engage students from elementary through university levels.

  2. Beginners to Intermediate Flow: Creating a seamless pathway for players transitioning from beginner to intermediate levels is essential for fostering skill development and engagement.

  3. Women’s Development: We are committed to promoting women’s participation in flying disc sports, ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive.

  4. Corporate Development: Expanding our partnerships within the corporate sector will help us gain resources and visibility.

  5. Dodge Disc: The inclusion of Dodge Disc in our initiatives reflects our dedication to diversifying our offerings and engaging a broader audience.

These initiatives embody our commitment to fostering a vibrant flying disc community that welcomes all participants. I encourage each of you to engage actively in these programs, as your involvement is vital to our collective success.

Achievements in Q1 and Q2 of 2025

I am excited to share our accomplishments from the first half of 2025, which have laid a strong foundation for our future endeavors:

  • Social League: We launched a Social League for Ultimate Frisbee which aimed at bridging the gap between elementary and intermediate players. This initiative has successfully created an inclusive environment for skill development and camaraderie among participants.

  • Hong Kong Ultimate Championship: This year, we co-organized the Hong Kong Ultimate Championship in collaboration with the Sha Tin Rural Committee, the Sha Tin Home Affairs Department, the Sha Tin Celebration Committee, and the Sha Tin Sports Association. We were thrilled to welcome international teams to this event, showcasing diverse talent and fostering global connections. Additionally, we partnered with Talent Green to implement a series of environmentally friendly initiatives throughout the championship, promoting sustainability and raising awareness about ecological responsibility among participants and spectators.

  • Dodge Disc Recognition: Both our vice president Jeffrey Lo and I travelled to Spain for the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) Congress where we pushed for Dodge Disc to be recognized by WFDF.  We are proud to announce that we successfully did so and Dodge Disc is now an officially recognized flying disc discipline by WFDF and included in the WFDF Sport for All program. This recognition is a significant milestone for our sport, encouraging broader and more international participation. For more information, please visit [WFDF Sport for All].

  • Festival of Sport: In collaboration with the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC), we participated in the Festival of Sport, featuring game booths and training classes for young participants. This event aims to introduce the joy of flying disc sports to the general public and for our aim, next generation. This year, we successfully applied to be one of the highlight events, allowing our flying disc sport to be showcased on various local media outlets.

  • WFDF 2025 World Under-24 Ultimate Championships: Our federation proudly sent both mixed and Open division teams to compete in the WFDF 2025 World Under-24 Ultimate Championships held in Logroño, Spain, from June 21 to 28. We are particularly proud that our Open Division team won the Best Spirit Award, highlighting our commitment to the core values of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

By fostering these partnerships, we aim to enhance our programs, increase participation, and elevate the profile of flying disc sports in Hong Kong and beyond.
