Hong Kong Flying Disc Federation Invited to Participate in Xinjiang Flying Disc Youth Invitational Tournament

[Hong Kong, 14 August 2026] – The 2026 Xinjiang Shule Silk Road Flying Disc ·  Shule Silk Road Youth Flying Disc Invitational Tournament  were recently held in Xinjiang, bringing together flying disc elites from Hong Kong, Macau, Shandong, Henan, and Xinjiang for exchanges. Representing Hong Kong at the event, Mr. Lo Chi Wai Jeffrey, Vice President of the Flying Disc Federation of Hong Kong, China, expressed his hope that following this exchange, and in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland next year, they would be able to invite flying disc athletes from Xinjiang and other parts of Greater China to visit Hong Kong for exchanges and competitions, fostering mutual learning and promoting the sport of flying disc.

The Flying Disc Federation of Hong Kong, China stated that the event coincided with the important occasion of National Fitness Day. Representatives and youth members from Hong Kong, Macau, Shandong, Henan, and Xinjiang engaged in exchanges and friendly matches. During the exchange activities, delegates shared various techniques and experiences in flying disc coaching, practical training, and formal competitions. Additionally, in line with the National Fitness Day theme, the organizing committee set up a public welfare flying disc carnival experience event at the Zhang Qian Silk Road Cultural Scenic Area, offering free sports experience activities to local residents and tourists, allowing more people to be exposed to the emerging sport of flying disc.

As one of the participating regions in this exchange, the Flying Disc Federation of Hong Kong, China was represented by its President, Mr. Calvin CHENG; Vice President, Mr. Lo Chi Wai Jeffrey; and Chairman and Treasurer, Dr. Choy Sheung Ki Gary, who led a Hong Kong youth delegation to compete and engage in in-depth exchanges with athletes from various regions. Mr. Lo Chi Wai Jeffrey of the Flying Disc Federation of Hong Kong, China believes that sports are not only a stage for competition but also a bridge connecting people's hearts. Through this event, Hong Kong youth were able to personally experience Silk Road culture, build sincere friendships with young people from other provinces and cities on the mainland, broaden their horizons, and deepen their understanding and identification with the nation's history, culture, and shared community.

The successful hosting of the 2026 National Flying Disc Public Welfare Tour (Shule Station) and the Shule Silk Road Flying Disc Tournament represents a positive response to the call for national fitness and a successful practice of using sports public welfare to empower youth development and facilitate cross-regional cultural and sports collaboration.
